  • Practice Slip Due:

    Week of January 29th

    LMS Orchestras

Practice slips are due Monday, 1/29 (100 minutes) This is the final practice slip of 2nd quarter/1st semester.

6th graders will have a test over measures 36-40 in Classic Sinfonia this Wednesday, 1/31.

7th and 8th graders may sign up to help with solo and ensemble this Monday. I will need helpers both Friday after school from 3:00-4:00 (or so) and also on Saturday starting at 8:30 and going until approximately 2:00. Students do not have to commit to the entire time period on Saturday, they may work a “shift” of 2-3 hours if they wish. I could also use the help of perhaps one more parent if anyone is available. (Thank you Mrs. Dreewes for already volunteering!)

For those students who are performing in Solo/Ensemble, I will give you your performance time Monday or Tuesday this week. Important note: your warm up time is 10 minutes prior to your performance time. Strings will warm up in the Channel 3 studio and perform in the library at LMS. There will be no piano available in the warm up room; please bring a tuner. Please do not be late! Students should dress nicely, and if performing in an ensemble, students should wear matching clothing such as black and white clothing. (Students do not have to wear black and white, this is just an example.)

    PHS Orchestras

Practice slips are due Monday, 1/29 (150 minutes.) This is the first practice slip of 2nd semester.

T-shirts/Hoodies from the CustomInk order will be here approximately February 6th.

Update regarding Blue Orchestra trip: we have too many students, particularly first violins, who are unable to attend the W-ASTA/WWU festival, so we will not be going on the trip March 16-18. I will work on an alternative trip, such as going to Eastern Washington University, Whitworth, and/or Gonzaga for a clinic and then going to a performance of the Spokane Symphony or the like. I will send out information about this as soon as I have something worked out.
