Week of April 16th
Practice slips are due Monday, 4/16 (100 minutes.) This is the first practice slip of 4th quarter.
Congratulations to those students in Cantabile string ensemble on a great concert this past Saturday!
7th and 8th graders will have a test over the E flat major scale on Monday, 4/16. Students may choose to play half notes, quarter notes, or eighth notes for their performance of the scale.
There is a half day Wednesday, 4/18. We will have even class periods, so 7th and 8th graders will not have Orchestra that day, but 6th graders will.
6th graders will have their Spring Concert Thursday, 4/19 at 7:30 in the LMS Gym. This concert will also feature the Beginning and Advanced Elementary Orchestras. Students should be at LMS no later than 7:00 and go to room 806 for tuning. Students should wear their concert black and white clothing: white shirt or blouse, black pants or skirt, black hosiery, black shoes. All black dresses are also acceptable.
Students may get 100 extra credit points for staying to help set up for the concert on Thursday, 4/19 after school. We will begin at about 3:00 and should be done no later than 3:30; it is likely we will be done before that.
Practice slips are due Monday, 4/16 (150 minutes.) The end of the grading period is Friday, 4/27. There will be one more practice slip turn in for this grading period after 4/16.
Congratulations to those students in Cantabile string ensemble and GPYO on a great concert this past Saturday! In particular, bravo to Nanette Erickson, Sunny Hu, and Dmitri Saberi on beautiful solo performances!
Spring trip: we will be going to the “Music in the Parks” festival at Silverwood on Thursday, 5/17. Tickets are $20 (quite a discount.) Fundraising money from our Butter Braid sale will go toward the cost of the ticket. For those who did not participate in the fundraiser, the $20 will need to be paid to Mrs. Lacy to participate in the trip. I will let students know how much money they owe for the trip in the coming weeks.
If any parents are willing to help chaperone and/or drive a vehicle with cellos and basses that would be much appreciated! Please let me know if you’re willing to help out.← Week of April 9th Week of April 23rd →
