Week of May 21st
Practice slips are due Monday, 5/21 (100 minutes.)
7th and 8th graders: Please come to our two extra rehearsals with the 8th grade Band on Tuesday, 5/22 and 5/23 from 3:00-3:30 in the Commons. This is in preparation for our concert Thursday, 5/24. Students may put the time spent in these rehearsals on their practice slips.
Extra Credit Concerts:
5/21, 7:00 pm at St. James Episcopal Church in Pullman: Sunny Hu and Nanette Erickson’s Senior Recital. Sunny plays violin and Nanette plays viola. This will be a terrific performance!
5/21, 7:00 pm, PHS Auditorium: PHS Bands.
6th graders only: 5/24, 7:30 pm, LMS Gym: 7th and 8th grade Bands and Orchestras.
7th and 8th graders: Please be at LMS on Thursday, 5/24 by 7:00 pm and go to the small Gym for tuning and warm up. Black and white concert clothing is required: white shirt or blouse, black pants or skirt, black hosiery, black shoes.
Due to testing, 6th graders do not need to bring instruments to school Thursday, 5/24 and 8th graders do not need to bring instruments to school Friday, 5/25.

Great job to students on our Silverwood trip this past week! The students played extremely well and also conducted themselves beautifully while at the park. They are a quality group of people. If you haven’t paid your trip fee yet, please do so ASAP. You can pay Mrs. Lacy directly.

Next week 1st period has a bit of a different schedule due to Senior Boards and SBAC testing.
Tuesday: no 1st period
Wednesday: regular Wednesday schedule, so no 1st period
Thursday: regular Thursday schedule (8:20-9:50)
Friday: Tuesday schedule (8:20-9:50)
So, Gray Orchestra students only need to bring instruments Monday, Thursday, and Friday.
Graduation will be Saturday, June 9th at Beasley Coliseum. We will begin playing prelude music at 4:45 and the ceremony begins at 5:00. Students need to wear their concert black and be at Beasley by 4:15. The ceremony generally lasts about an hour and a half.
We will be going to Beasley in the morning on Friday, June 8th for graduation practice. We will leave at the beginning of the school day and will return to PHS at about 10:15. Students who play large instruments (cellos and basses) may leave their instruments at Beasley after the practice and take them with them after the ceremony on Saturday. Those students who play a school bass, Maintenance will move the basses to and from Beasley.
